Hi everyone! I’m Holly Humphreys, owner and lead trainer at Always Stay Pawsitive Dog Training, a private, in-home and virtual dog training service based in White Oak, Pennsylvania.
I am a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP) and Puppy Start Right Instructor. I specialize in positive reinforcement dog training, behavior modification, and confidence-building without the use of punishment-based methods like choke chains, prong collars, or electric collars. The training methodology I use today is the same science-based approach I apply while working in the veterinary field.
My professional experience includes 26 years as a veterinary technician. I soon fell in love with animal behavior and developed a passion for working one-on-one with dog guardians over the past 14 years. My ultimate goal—helping families build a FUN and respectful relationship with their dogs.
I am an active member of Fear Free Pets earning my elite status, Puppy Start Right Instructor, The Human-Animal Bond Certification, and ongoing continuing education to ensure I stay current on the latest science-backed dog training and behavioral research.
My education includes a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology through the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. I also earned my certification as a Puppy Start Right Instructor and Training Partner through Karen Pryor Academy of Animal Behavior.

““Holly is GREAT!! I would highly recommend her for any of your dog training needs!!? She was so wonderful with my dog going thru puppy class and basic obedience. And she was very patient with me, cause basically she needs to train us on how to train our dogs! He now does agility and rodeo dog and is a therapy dog!! And it all started with Holly in puppy class!! You won’t be disappointed with Holly, her knowledge and professionalism and love of our dogs.”

“I contacted Holly after hearing an employee at my vets office raving about her. They didn’t steer me wrong and I am so happy she worked with me and my pup Ivy Jean. Ivy is a 3-pound Maltese and struggled with anxiety and fear concerning her harness, walking on a leash and even afraid of her water dish! Holly shared LOTS of valuable information with me and worked with us to help Ivy adjust and learn new skills. I would HIGHLY recommend Holly. Not only is she an expert in dog behaviors she is such a sweet and compassionate person. We are lucky to have found her and will be contacting her in the future when I need advice or more training.”

“Holly is an amazing trainer. She focuses solely on positive reinforcement which was very important to me with my dog. I reached out to her when I needed help with a specific behavior my dog was self-reinforcing.
She came to the house to work with us and come up with a plan to retrain the dog’s response to what was triggering her behavior. I know I can always reach out to her with questions. Highly recommend.”
